help you hear better, little Allie.
Yes, Allie will have tubes placed in her ears again on Tuesday. Seems like just last week we had them done, but it was about 8 months ago. These tubes are no longer in the place they need to be in and Allie's ears are all 'gunked' up again. So, Tuesday morning - bright and far too early - we will be at Children's Hospital in Birmingham getting ready to have it done again.
Allie has learned the art of bubble
blowing. She is really good at it.
Allie really hasn't had problems with her ears for the most part. When you think of tubes one usually pictures ear infections and very grumpy children (for very good reasons). But, Allie doesn't show a lot of those signs. She did have a few days when she was also teething and I think the pressure in her head was bad and caused her to be very sad and teary for a few days. That pretty much caused the rest of us around her to feel the same way. But, that past rather quickly in general and for the most part she doesn't show the signs of discomfort. But, we know her ears need to be 'cleaned out' again. We've also noticed she isn't responding as well without her hearing aids in as she usually does. So, I'm actually ready for this surgery. The sooner the better to get her hearing back up to were it should be.
She has also learned the art of
looking cute while she blows bubbles.
I'll keep you posted after surgery. Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I'm not sure where the time goes, but it seems to be scarce these days. I have so many adventures and events to write about... just no free time.
Her happy outlook is contagious.
Who knew baby toys could be so much fun?
Right now, Allie is letting her Daddy know that sleep is really not on her agenda. I can't decipher what she is telling him, but it sounds very important to her and has lots of details. He seems to just be listening and that doesn't seem to be stopping her from including all parts of her story. Maybe we had too much fun today avoiding the rain (we got stuck in a store while the rain poured down and sirens blared all around us).
Well, we hope you have a wonderful week. Happy May!
She even tolerates some spontaneous
photo shoots with a wave!
P.S. I just stuck my head into Allie's room to get my camera and discovered that not only is she telling a story, but Daddy is tickling her. I'd say they will be up for a little bit longer, but life is short and I'm so glad they love to spend time together.
