Well, hello there! This is Allie B. Lovell speaking... where have you been? What??? You've been right here waiting for me? Where have I been you ask? Oh my... it has been a long time since I've been blogging. As you can tell from my last post, I've acquired a new skill and now my whole world is changing.
So... what am I like these days? Let me tell you....
1. I'm 19 Months Old (give or take a few days) 2. I weigh 14 pounds and 3 ounces and am 26 inches long
3. I wear a lot of size 6 month clothes right now, but sometimes my shorts and skirts fit best if they are the 3 month size
4. My shoe size is a 1.
5. I can sit up and lay down and get just about anyone - suspecting stranger or not - to pick me up if I choose to have them do so.
6. I am my local Walmart greeter... no one gets past me without a smile and a wave (sometimes I'm a bit slow as I try to get eye contact first) and as of last week I can now blow a pretty direct kiss.
7. I sleep through the night - but, I've been doing this since I came home - just checking to see if you've been paying attention. I like to take 2 naps during the day for a total of about 3 hours.
8. I still drink formula, but can now do so out of a sippy cup, a straw or a cut out cup.
9. I eat lots of different foods. This weekend alone I've already tried BBQ meat; Catfish; Mashed Potatoes and Mac & Cheese. At school I eat a lot of these things as well and this week I made it perfectly clear I like Ritz Bitz... yummy!
10. I can feed myself pretty well and while I still make a mess, I have fun and I'm learning to get my hands dirty in the process. I do like to eat my special cheese puffs that my friend Ethan told me about. They are really good!
11. I am learning lots of sign language. I think I'm up to about 20 signs and actions
12. I can read about 5-8 words
13. I follow instructions really well when playing and changing and that sort of thing
14. I can cry (or scrunch up my face) when I think it will get me one more hug. I can also point to the door and sign "all done" when I want to be done with my therapy session and go back to playing with my friends.
15. I love to dance and hear music. When the music gets turned on I clap and am very happy. I also love songs like If You Are Happy and You Know it and my fave... Itsy Bitsy Spider... I can do all the actions to these songs (and a few others!)
16. I can brush my teeth (kindof)
17. I can take a head band or hat completely off my head with one finger! (Once I get that hat untied, that is - which takes a little bit longer).
18. I can get my hearing aids off without removing my hat or headband. (Magic!!!)
19. I can make my Mommy or Daddy stop what they are doing to hold me and hug and kiss me
20. I make strangers come up and talk to me and my Mom and Dad.
Okay.. that is all I can think to tell you at the moment. What can you do?
More to follow,
Love and lots of hugs and kisses,
Allie B. Lovell
