One Knee in Front of the Other

Allie is really wanting to crawl these days. She can do one or two crawls at a time before sitting back down. She is just days away from crawling all over the place. She also does very good when we hold her up and help her to stand. She is really wanting to do it and does very well at it. I, on the other hand, am not sure I'm ready for this mobility stage. I like knowing where she is at when I put her on the floor. It is seriously time for some baby proofing.

Is there a company I call for that? Allie was home from school today to get over a fever she had yesterday. She has her 9th tooth coming in and it gave her some problems his past weekend. We went to a Gymboree preview day where she drooled the whole time (you all know Allie is not a big drooler - spitter, yes, drooler, no). Anyway, she had a fever off and on and yesterday it was higher than school allows and she just wasn't acting herself. So, I had to keep her home and I worked remotely.

I was nervous wondering how I'd get my work done because if she is in the room...I like to play with her. But, she is now at the age she can play so much more on her own - or with Nicky - and I got a lot more done than I would have expected.

It probably helps that I held, coddled and played with her the whole long weekend, so I didn't need my Allie-fix as much today as usual. At school we are learning about colors. Today was purple day. We were all ready to wear our purple colors, but when we couldn't go to school, we decided to wear them anyway. Might as well learn at home, too, right? So, Allie is decked out from her head to her toes in purple. Tomorrow is Orange day.... hmmmmm... how much orange does she have?

I'd have to guess that this is not what the therapist suggested when she sent home our exercise equipment. But, Allie seemed to find it a good place to watch her show while I attended a conference call. Yes, I had to mute the call and snap a picture! She looks like a little teenie bopper leaning her head in her hand as she watches her "fave" show!

P.S. She does actually use the exercise equipment for intended purposes. I'll try to grab a photo of that to prove it. :-)

We thought you'd enjoy this little video of her crawling attempt. It is so cute when she mimics my "come here, Allie". Sounds a little like me calling Nicky, I guess I need to work on that....

Dear Allie:

I'm lovin' your new blog pictures, and I am also thrilled by your progress in crawling as shown in the newest video.

Have Mom & Dad give you their GPS so you can crawl to our home.

Love, Grandpa
