Will you buy Allie lunch?

October is Down Syndrome Awareness month and we need all of Allie's friends to help us in our efforts. We know this is a very tough year financially for everyone and we would never ask anyone to do anything that they can't do or that would put them in a bind. Unfortunately, with the tough economy right now, Non-Profit Organizations - like our parent support group (PADS) and our Adult Down Syndrome Clinic (ADSC) have suffered as well and need help, too. We are asking if you would please consider donating the amount of your lunch (brown bag it for a day) or pocket change. Every dollar really helps and no donation is too small or less appreciated than another. We are trying to collect all donations by October 9th, but donations are accepted all month, straight donations can be done at www.firstgiving.com/allielovell (donations can also be mailed, email me at sandy.lovell@charter.net for more information). If you are in the area, our first preference would be for you to walk with us on October 18th from 2-4pm at Regions Park in Hoover. Register online here. If you register by the 9th I can pick up your t-shirt (your ticket into the event), which ensures your accurate size.
Allie's Allies - our first Buddy Walk - Oct 2008

If you could consider helping us, we would really appreciate it. Please help your children, grandchildren, relatives, etc. understand that having DS isn't that different from not having it. Yes, there are more challenges from educational, motor skills and medical, but raising a child with DS has been such a rewarding experience for us.

We'd love to see you at the Buddy Walk!
Sandy, Tim, Allie and Nicky (woof!)
