Look! You can now see those sweet lips today!!
Baby makes the booties even more cute!
See the sweet baby and her tiny booties? She slept
through this whole picture taking/dress up
experience. She was out like a light and wouldn't
budge to wake up!
Let's just put this in perspective. Her diaper is the
smallest they make and it is TOO large her for her.
It is only slightly bigger than my phone!
Today is Day 12 of our little girls fascinating journey. She is doing fantastic (thanks for asking!). She is 13 1/2 inches long and weighs 2 pounds and 6 ounces!! She is now eating 21 cc's of milk every 3 hours - that is almost 4 1/2 teaspoons. We've added a little bit of formula to her milk to help her add more calories. She is still just as healthy as she can be and active, too!! She loves to kick those legs as many of you have pointed out. She also loves a good body rub. Despite some of the nurses thinking Tim was a bit crazy when he suggested she was trying to flip over as early as a week ago, it has been confirmed by us and by a couple nurses that this little child is a "flipper". If she wants to be on her belly or her back and she isn't, she finds a way. Of course being only 2.6 pounds probably makes it easier for her than for us. The body pillow also plays a role, but I believe she is just brillant.
We had a lot of fun the other day putting cute little booties on her and wrapping her in a Winnie the Pooh blanket. The nurses in the NICU are fabulous and love to take care of Ms. Allie. She really doesn't give them any trouble and seems to just love to be ooh'd and ahh'd over. After we left one night, her nurse, Kristi, redid her "condo" for us and gave her the lovely pink blanket and decorated Pooh Bear, too. Seems Allie didn't like to keep the booties on, but Pooh has been very cooperative.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm glad you all seem to be enjoying these updates. I love to talk about my little girl and as I recouperate, I'll be able to do that more often!
Have a terrific weekend! ~ from all of us!
